The Chief.   Located in the village of Bellaire, Michigan, sits at the entrance to the "Chief Golf Course".  Dimensions:  12' high and 9' wide.  It weighs 3 ton and is made from white pine timbers and built around a steel frame.  Karl designed this for Grant Rowe, owner of the Chief golf course and took it from paper to real life in about six months.  He used chisels, chainsaws and grinders to carve out what you see today. The Hawks Eye:  This piece is also in Bellaire, Michigan,.  This carving is for the "Hawks Eye" golf course, next to the Chief golf course.  It is made from Sign Foam which is a high density polyuerethane foam and is very easy to carve and finish.  The Hawk is 3'x4'x3' and is a Red Tail Hawk in a grand scale.  Karl also made the nest that it sets in and everything is attached to the top of a live oak tree. Lamplight sign:  This you will find in Central Lake, MI,.  This sign is made from sign foam and is carved and has 23k gold leaf on the letters. Great Horned Owl:  Measures 18x6x7.  Made from basswood and is painted with acrylic paints.  It is mounted onto a natural pine root, taken from his dad's woods.  This piece is for sale and can be shipped to you directly. Kevin Steely DDS:  This was shaped and sculpted to look like a real boat, the letters are v-carved into the panel.  Natural posting with sailing rope wrapped around them to look pilings.  This was located in East Jordan, MI Trout:  Made from basswood and painted with acrylic paints.   This is a life-like carving and sets on a natural piece of pine root, found in the wet areas of Karl's dads land. Double Doors:  This project was for a couple who reside in Pennsylvania and have a home in Irons, Michigan.  They built their cabin using a variety of speciality woods and foreign woods. These doors are made from African Paduk.  They measure 80x60 and have inlayed panels and a custom carved pine cone design on the top panel.  Karl designed this door especially for this customers and their likes. Cedar Furniture.  These pieces were made for a dental office in East Jordan, MI.  They were 5 pieces in all, ranging from chairs to double seated benches.  They are made from cedar logs and the backs and seats are made from white pine Cedar Furniture.
